School headmistress to face action

Upa Lokayukta Subhash B. Adi on Tuesday ordered the Block Education Officer to initiate action against the headmistress of the Government Primary School at Byalahalli in Malur taluk where a three-year-old boy fell into a vessel of hot sambar and died. The boy, Manjunath Gowda, sustained severe burns after falling into hot sambar on September 27 and died in Victoria Hospital in Bangalore on October 7. Mr. Adi, who visited the school, instructed the Chief Executive Officer of the Kolar Zilla Panchayat to provide relief to the boy’s family. Manjunath was the son of assistant cook Manjula.
