Amidst reports that the director of Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) might be asked to quit based on superannuation rules, the National Committee for Protection of Natural Resources (NCPNR) and Jan Sangram Parishat (JSP) have sought a public apology from district in-charge Minister Santosh Lad over his alleged outburst against the KIMS director.

They have also urged the Chief Minister to continue with the services of KIMS director Vasantha Kamath. Addressing presspersons here on Thursday, NCPNR founder-president S.R. Hiremath urged the Chief Minister to immediately intervene and initiate action against Mr. Lad in the interests of KIMS.

Mr. Hiremath said that NCPNR would be forced to move the court if Chief Minister Siddaramaiah did not intervene.
