Bangalore: Patients visiting Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Trauma Care and Orthopaedics can now get specialised treatment with the inauguration of super-speciality spine and joint replacement departments in the hospital.

These departments, housed on the second floor of the hospital, have been built at a cost of Rs. 86 crore under the Karnataka Health System Development and Reform Project. Health and Family Welfare Minister B. Sriramulu and Medical Education Minister Ramchandra Gowda, who inaugurated the new facilities on Thursday, said the State Government would release more funds to procure the required equipment for the hospital.

Addressing doctors and staff of the hospital after inaugurating the facilities, Mr. Sriramulu said the Government would soon recruit more staff at the hospital.
