Sangha for disabilities persons launched

‘Remain united in the fight for your rights'

HASSAN: The Hassan Zilla Angavikalara Sangha launched the Hassanamba Vikalachethanara Spoorthy SevaSahaya Sangha at a function in Kala Bhavan here on Saturday. Inaugurating the sangha, Hassan City Municipal Council (CMC) president Ambika Ravishankar advised persons with disabilities to remain united in the fight for their rights. When persons availed themselves of facilities, they must inform others, she said.

Ms. Ravishankar said there were 21,000 people with physical disabilities in the city. The CMC had drawn programmes to rehabilitate them and make them self reliant, she announced adding that they could contact her anytime for assistance.

District Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Udaya Ravi, founder president of Karnataka Rajya Angavikalara Sangha C.K. Lakshminarayana Gupta, district president Chandrashekhara Raja Urs were present.
