Urges State Government to take action against the guilty in all atrocity cases

GULBARGA: The Samata Sainik Dal on Thursday staged a dharna in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office demanding action against those responsible for attacks on Dalits in the State. They demanded that Gulbarga University should be renamed as Ambedkar University.

The activists, led by the dal's district unit president, Sanjeev T. Male, who came in a procession, submitted a memorandum, addressed to Governor T.N. Chaturvedi, to the district authorities. The dal alleged that the atrocities on Dalits had increased after the JD(S)-BJP coalition assumed power in the State.
