Janardhana Swamy, MP, has said that the State government has recently released Rs. 7 crore to Bhovi community for the construction of Siddarameshwar Bhavan and other development projects.

In a press release issued here on Sunday, Mr. Swamy said that he, along with Immadi Siddarameshwar Swami of Bhovi Gurupeetha had submitted a proposal seeking funds for the development of the math in Bangalore, recently. In response to it, Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar had assured that Rs. 2 crore would be released for Jagadguru Siddarameshwar Mahasamsthan Math here and another Rs. 2 crore for Sharana Basava Ashram at Bagalkot.

Mr. Shettar had promised to release Rs. 50 lakh each to Shivayogi Siddarameshwar Education and Welfare Trust here and its unit at Bagalkot for taking up various development schemes. “Mr. Shettar has also said that steps would be taken to set up Shiva Sharana Siddarameshwar Study Centre at Davangere University,” Mr. Swamy said in the release.

The remainder of the grants would be utilised for other development projects of the math, the release said.
