A sum of Rs. 30 lakh was snatched from a man who was assaulted by four men in Malleswaram here on Sunday night.

Around 9 p.m., Shivanna (45), who works in a real estate firm, Prajval Properties, was asked by his employer Narahari to transfer the money from the office on Sampige Road to the latter's house on Link Road, Malleswaram.

On the way, close to Sirur Park, four strangers in a car allegedly ambushed Shivanna, who was on a moped. He sustained injuries during the assault, after which the men grabbed the bag and fled, said the Malleswaram police. Investigation is on.

Van overturns

Six people were injured when their van overturned in the Hennur underpass on Outer Ring Road here on Monday morning.

Of the six, Rejavati (36) and Shantamma (56) are in hospital.

Around 10.30 p.m., the six boarded the vehicle from K.R. Puram and were headed towards Hebbal. The vehicle tipped over after the driver lost control at a curve in the underpass, said the Banaswadi Traffic Police. A complaint was filed against the driver, who is absconding.

Fatal accident

Rajesh Kumar (25) died when his motorbike rammed a median near Hosakerehalli junction in Banashankari on Sunday night.

Theft

Gold and Rs. 50,000 in cash were reported stolen from a house on Sunday night in R.T. Nagar here. Tanveer Mohinuddin (34) had locked up his house on Deve Gowda Road on April 12. On returning on Sunday night he found that the gold, and cash had been stolen.
