BANGALORE: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has proposed to increase the budgetary allocation for minority welfare from Rs. 167 crore during 2009-10 to Rs. 207 crore during 2010-11.
Presenting the 2010-11 budget in the Legislative Assembly on Friday, Mr. Yeddyurappa said an amount of Rs. 5 crore will be provided for constructing a Haj Bhavan in Bangalore, besides Rs. 10 crore for construction of marriage halls.
Also, an amount of Rs. 3 crore will be provided for special language training to enable minority students to change their medium of instruction for higher education.
The Government will be providing skill development training for minority community students through Minority Development Corporation at a cost of Rs. 10 crore. Besides, Rs. 1 crore will be provided for development of Tavakkal Mastan Darga of Bangalore and Mardan E. Ghaib near Shivana Samudra.
