A sum of Rs. 1.35 crore was sanctioned by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday for taking up a research on the works of the 14th century Sufi saint Hazrath Khaja Banda Nawaz Gesudaraz. Speaking after inaugurating the All-India Industrial Exhibition, organized as part of the 609th Urs-e-Shareef of Hazrath Khaja Bandenawaz here, Mr. Siddaramaiah said that the grants would be released to Khaja Education Society.

The Chief Minister said that the government would lay emphasis on the overall development of Minority and Backward Classes.

Earlier, immediately on his arrival at the Dargah, Mr. Siddaramaiah, accompanied by Municipal Administration and Wakf Minister Qamar-ul Islam, Sajjada Nasheen of the Hazrath Khaja Bandenawaz Dargah Shareef Syed Shah Khuro Hussaini and others, visited the tomb of Sufi saint Khaja Bandenawaz and paid floral tributes.
