Hyderabad Karnataka Area Development Board chairman Amarnath Patil has thanked Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa for sanctioning the construction of new roads and carrying out repairs to existing roads in rural areas in the six districts in Gulbarga division.

According to him, the State Government has approved works to lay, re-lay or repair 3,855.15 km of roads in Bidar, Gulbarga, Raichur, Koppal, Yadgir and Bellary under the Mukhya Mantri Grameen Sadak Yojana.

The approvals are based on the cumulative deprivation index. Gulbarga division has been sanctioned 40 per cent of the total length of roadworks to be taken up in the State.
