To generate additional traffic and popularise the premium Flybus service, introduced by the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) between Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) and Mysore, a roadshow will be held here on Thursday.

KSRTC Divisional Controller B.V. Srinivas said the average occupancy rate for the service, introduced almost a month ago, was 10 to 12 passengers a day against the carrying capacity of 40 passengers. He said people were not aware of the service and hence the KSRTC would popularise it by organising roadshows.

He said a meeting with about 20 to 25 premium hotels in the city was also slated to be held to rope in them to popularise the service. These hotels could be the pick-up points for passengers. The ride to Bangalore costs Rs. 1,000 and the pick-up service was free, Mr. Srinivas said. The Flybus service departs from BIA to Mysore daily at 9.45 a.m. and arrives in Mysore at 1.45 p.m. It departs from Mysore at 2 p.m. to reach BIAL at 6 p.m. The second service departs from BIAL at 9.45 p.m. to reach Mysore at 1.30 a.m. and the corresponding service from Mysore is at 2 a.m. to reach BIAL at 5.45 a.m.

The air-conditioned multi-axle Volvo coach will have pantry, chemical toilets, seats with more legroom, live display of flight timings, and GPS and Wi-Fi facilities.
