Officials from the Karnataka State Human Rights Commission (KSHRC) visited the MICO Layout police outpost here on Thursday and seized some metal pipes there.

It is not clear why these metal pipes were stored on the premises. No complaint has been registered or no action reported in connection with this.

Based on information provided by a habitual offender, the team headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Shiva Murthy visited the outpost. According to a senior officer at the Madivala police station, the police interrogated Pervez on February 7. He was arrested by the Subramanyapura police last year.

Gold, silver, a cellphone and household articles worth rupees several lakh were looted from a house in MICO Layout police station limits recently and Pervez was using the stolen phone.

“The police then arrested and interrogated him,” an officer said.

Pervez, who was arrested and produced before the tahsildar (Bangalore South), approached the KSHRC, whose team visited the outpost.
