September 11 resonates with the Forest Department in an altogether different way: this is the day the department pays tribute to officials who lost their lives while on duty. The Forest Martyr’s Day was observed on Wednesday at Aranya Bhavan. No less than 38 forest officials from the State have lost their lives while on duty since 1966.
