‘Rahul Gandhi should look into his party’s affairs first’
Belgaum: All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Rahul Gandhi has drawn flak for his reported remark on lack of democracy in political parties.
Bharatiya Janata Party MP Suresh C. Angadi said that Mr. Gandhi and the AICC president Sonia Gandhi should have step down from their offices before passing such remarks against political parties. He charged that the Congress was the party which lacked democracy as it continued to be under “dynastic rule”.
Mr. Gandhi should look into the affairs of his party before making such remarks, he added. President of the Belgaum district unit of Janata Dal (Secular) Ashok Pujari said that Mr. Gandhi’s remark was an “expression of ignorance” and lack of understanding about the functioning of political parties in the country, particularly the Congress. “It seems that Mr. Gandhi has developed wrong perceptions about other parties without knowing the affairs of his own party,” Mr. Pujari said.
