Yeddyurappa questions claims of buoyancy in resource mobilisation

The former Chief Minister and president of the Karnataka Janata Paksha B.S. Yeddyurappa has demanded that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who also holds the Finance portfolio, bring out a White Paper on the State’s finances, status of resources mobilisation and achievement of plan targets.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Mr. Yeddyurappa disputed the Chief Minister’s claims that there was buoyancy in resource mobilisation.

He wanted to know if finances were that good why funds weren’t being released for development schemes. He said the Chief Minister should have used the opportunity as M. Mallikarjun Kharge was the Railway Minister and got more railway projects sanctioned and expedited the work on ongoing railway projects .

Mr. Yeddyurappa said as per information available to him, the State government should have released Rs. 750 crore for ongoing railway projects, but so far only Rs. 50 crore had been released.
