Many stars in Sandalwood treat January 1 as any other day. However, they also remark that the day gives them an opportunity to reflect on the year gone by and prepare for challenges in the coming year.

Actor Ramesh Aravind, who has acted in many blockbusters in South Indian languages, says that he spends New Year eve with family. His plan includes watching programmes on various television channels and having a quiet dinner with family in a well-known restaurant. He said, 2009 was an exciting year for him and was eagerly awaiting the release of his film “Crazy Kutumba” in the New Year. With Anant Nag as co-star, Ramesh says it is pure family entertainer. “New Year Eve and January 1 are like any other days. They give you a chance to refresh your dreams. However, when I was college student, I have freaked out on Brigade Road, the place for making merry on New Year eve those days. We were a bunch of friends, who always made this day memorable,” he says.

Young actor Yash of the “Moggina Manasu” fame, will be welcoming 2010 in Kerala. He is busy shooting for his new movie “Modalasala”. “I will be celebrating New Year eve with my co-stars. I am happy that I will be working on January 1. When I was in school and college it was different. The celebrations including my birthday used to be exciting. I always looked forward to celebrate such occassions. Now, my celebrations are tapered due to my professional commitments. I am looking for new challenges in the coming year and looking for different kind of roles,” he said.
