: Vijayanand Kashappanavar, Congress MLA, who was allegedly involved in a brawl with the police at a bar in the city last week, is likely to attend the Legislative Assembly session on Monday.

Mr. Kashappanvar said he would cooperate with the police for conducting a probe in connection with his alleged involvement in the brawl. He said he was even ready to face a probe by the City Crime Branch.Mr. Kashappanvar clarified that he did not run away from the city fearing a probe by the police.

Pained by the incident, he went to seek the blessings of Lord Venkateshwara at Tirumala. He had not informed Congress State unit president G. Parameshwara of his visit, Mr. Kashappanavar told presspersons at his residence here on Sunday. Both houses of legislature had witnessed acrimonious scenes on Friday following BJP’s demand for arresting the MLA. He said he would attend the Assembly session on Monday and apologise to senior party leaders.
