Two persons, who were allegedly associates in the gangs led by Ravi Poojary and Kali Yogesh, were arrested recently after they attempted to extort money from a businessman in the city.

According to the police, Taranath and Subramanya were arrested after the police received information that the men had demanded Rs. 1 lakh from a businessman and had asked him to drop the money off at a milk parlour in PVS circle.

Based on this tip-off, the City Crime Bureau raided the parlour and seized Rs. 1 lakh, eight mobile phones and three pistols. Questioning of the arrested revealed that they were working for Dinesh and Pratap, who are also associates of Ravi Poojary and are currently lodged in Mangalore sub-jail on charges of killing advocate Naushad Kasim.
