Rain receded in the district on Sunday but the major rivers continued to be in spate.

As water level in the Bhadra Reservoir has reached 184.40 feet against the maximum level on 186 feet, 10,000 cusecs of water is being released from the reservoir to the river. The water level in Linganamakki reservoir has reached 1,811 feet. An inflow at the rate of 55,844 cusecs was recorded here.

Five houses have collapsed due to rain in Bhadrapur village in Shikaripur taluk. A Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus was partially damaged when a tree fell on it in Sagar city. All the passengers inside the bus were reported safe.

More than 1,100 acre of paddy crop in Talaguppa hobli limits continued to remain inundated in Varada river that was flowing above the danger mark here.

Agumbe has received 195 mm of rainfall, Hulikal 141 mm, Mastikatte 137 mm, Mani 134 mm and 129 mm rain was recorded in Yadur.
