Bangalore: After a brief spell of sunshine on Thursday afternoon, Bangaloreans witnessed showers from late evening. Two trees were uprooted in Basavanagudi and on St. Marks’ Road and three vehicles damaged.

Although the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) control rooms did not receive any rain-related complaints, three cars were damaged after a tree was uprooted on St. Marks’ Road. Another tree was uprooted in the M.N. Krishna Rau Park in Basavangudi.

While no casualties were reported, vehicular movement was affected throughout the city.

The light drizzle that began from 6 p.m. later became heavy and it continued to rain till midnight.

Till around 8.30 p.m., the city recorded 6.6 mm of rainfall.

The Meteorological Department has forecast the possibility of rain or thundershowers on Friday.
