The monthlong ‘Vachana Shraavana' programme organised by Basava Kendra of Gokul Road in Hubli concluded recently.

During the programme, 30 scholars delivered lectures on the principles of “Basava Dharma” using Vachanas of the 12th century sharanas.

Speaking at the valedictory ceremony of the programme, Tontada Siddhalinga Swami of Gadag Tontadarya Math stressed the need for putting to practice the teachings of Basaveshwara and sharanas.

President of Basava Samiti, Bangalore, Aravind Jatti, Shashikanth Birajdar and Shambhulingappa Masali spoke.

The swamiji released Kannada book Lingavanta Dharma Sandarshana written by P.M. Giriraju. The author was felicitated on the occasion.

Working president of the sangha welcomed the gathering.

Professor G.B. Halyal made introductory remarks and president of the sangha B.V. Shirur honoured the guests. Secretary Prabhu Angadi proposed a vote of thanks.
