Two senior vocalists from Pune will perform at the “Indian Music Festival” to be held here in memory of vocalist Sharada B. Shirur on Sunday.

The event is being organised by Hubli Art Circle and Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music Foundation, Hubli, at Sawai Gandharva Hall at Deshpande Nagar in Hubli at 6 p.m.

President of Hubli Art Circle Vikram Shirur, vice-president Baburao Hangal and founder-president of Dr Gangubai Hangal Music Foundation Manoj Hangal told presspersons here on Thursday that the annual event was being held in memory Sharada B. Shirur who was not only a vocalist but also a patron of music.

Geeta Gulvade and Padma Talwalkar from Pune would pay a musical tribute to Shirur, they said.

Geeta Gulvade is undergoing advanced training under Narayan Rao Bodas of Gwalior Gharana. A regular performer on Doordarshan and All India Radio, Padma has performed in several countries, including U.S.A. and Canada.
