BELLARY: The district unit of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) staged a demonstration here on Friday in protest against the increase in prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas.

U. Basavaraj, general secretary of the district party unit, who led the demonstration, charged the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress with being responsible for the situation.

Stating that the prices of all essential commodities had been increased, he said the increase in fuel prices had further made life miserable for the common man.
