SHIMOGA: Members of the District Congress Committee held a demonstration at the Mahatma Gandhi Park here on Friday to protest against the delay in the implementation of the schemes launched by the last elected body of the City Municipal Council for the development of the park.

The former municipal president B.A. Ramesh Hegde, who led the demonstration, said the schemes launched by the last elected body included the installation of the musical fountain, public toilets, sprinkler unit to water the plants and trees, solar lighting and the artificial waterfall, inter-locking pavement and music concerts on every Sunday evening.

He said none of these schemes had been implemented by the present dispensation headed by the Deputy Commissioner.
