DHARWAD: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on Saturday promised to allocate Rs. 25 crore in the next budget for the establishment of “farmers’ knowledge development centre” complex at the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS) in Dharwad. He was inaugurating the four-day “Krishi Mela-2008” organised by the UAS in Dharwad. His assurance was in response to the memorandum submitted to him by Vice-Chancellor of UAS J.H. Kulkarni. Dr. Kulkarni urged the Chief Minister to sanction Rs. 40 crore in two instalments for setting up the centre on the UAS premises and submitted a memorandum. — Staff Correspondent
