The State Government has warned the zilla panchayat and the urban local bodies in the district that allocation for special sector schemes would be reduced next year if funds allocated this year were not fully and properly utilised.

In a review meeting at the zilla panchayat on Wednesday, Principal Secretary, Planning and Implementation, Sanjiv Kumar said the progress of special sector schemes was unsatisfactory. “The population of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in this district is more than in many other districts. Therefore, the amount of funds released to Bidar under the special sector schemes is higher than most others. It has to be fully and properly utilised,” he said.

‘Monitor progress'

He asked the Deputy Commissioner to regularly monitor the progress of special sector schemes and to take action against officials who did not implement the schemes well, he said.
