The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday directed the police to produce before it father and brother of Surendra Babu, who has been arrested in connection with murder of his actor-wife Hemashree.

A Division Bench comprising Justice D.V. Shylendra Kumar and Justice H.S. Kempanna issued the direction after the police denied the allegation of Ramaiah, father of Suredra Babu, that the police had illegally detained his another son, Jayapal, in connection with the murder case.

Mr. Ramaiah had set a telegram to the High Court alleging that Jayapal was allegedly detained by the police as he was missing for the past 15 days and the court had treated the telegram has a suo motu writ of habeas corpus .

Further hearing has been adjourned to November 9.
