Udupi: Chairman of Udupi Urban Development Authority (UUDA) B. Sudhakar Shetty said on Monday that priority would be given for implementation of the master plan for development of Udupi city.

Addressing presspersons after taking charge as chairman of the authority here, Mr. Shetty said that the master plan had been approved by the State Government. The area under the Udupi city municipality and 19 villages surrounding the city came under the jurisdiction of the UUDA.

Steps would be taken to develop focussing on the city’s growth in the next ten years. Emphasis would be laid on providing basic facilities, including construction of a ring road, a truck terminal, parking area for maxi cabs and tempos and rain water harvesting, he said.
