Members of the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene on Monday took out a procession and staged dharna outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office here, in protest against the increase in the price of food items and beverages in hotels.

The agitators urged the authorities to regulate the prices and protect the interests of people. They said that hotel owners should be told to maintain cleanliness in hotels and supply purified drinking water. They sought action against the alleged menace of spurious liquor in villages and submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner in this regard.
