Preliminary meeting for Thipperudraswamy fair held
Deputy Commissioner V.P. Ikkeri has instructed officers to ensure that all civic amenities are provided to those attending the Guru Thipperudraswamy Jatra at Nayakanahatti in Challakere taluk scheduled for March 28.
Speaking at a preliminary meeting convened at the Guru Thipperudraswamy temple here on Tuesday, he said that last year the zilla panchayat and the Public Works Department had arranged for 15 tankers to supply drinking water to visitors. This year, they had decided to use 25 tankers.
He instructed Bangalore Electricity Supply Company personnel to ensure uninterrupted power supply to all pumpsets in the areas surrounding the temple during the fair. “If officers are unable to ensure this, they should inform the district administration about it so that alternative arrangements can be made,” he said.
