Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda on Sunday has said he would consult Muslim community leaders before preparing the next State budget so that demands of their community are well represented. He said it had come to his notice that funds allotted remain with middle-men, and that he would look into it.

Speaking at a farewell function organised for Haj pilgrims here, Mr. Gowda said the Government was committed for the welfare of the Muslim community.

Mr. Sadananda Gowda appealed to those travelling to Mecca for the Haj pilgrimage to pray for the welfare of the State.

On construction of the Haj Bhavan, the Chief Minister said Rs. 15 crore has been released for the purpose. The foundation stone for the building, to come up on a 3.17 acres of land near Yelahanka, would be laid in the first week of December.
