S.V. Ganesh's aim is the creation of

a corruption-free society

HASSAN: South Graduates Constituency independent candidate S.V. Ganesh has said that he would tour all four districts that comprise the constituency – Hassan, Mysore, Chamarajanagar and Mandya districts – and enlighten voters on election malpractices by political parties. The constituency will go to the polls on June 21.

Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, Mr. Ganesh said he would spend Rs. 25,000 as election expenditure, meet at least 1 lakh voters and explain to them the discrepancies in the voters' list.

The Election Commission made a mistake including names on the old voters' list without verifying them, he said.

Earlier, the commission had announced that all graduates should enrol their names in the voters' list.

The order was later withdrawn. Now a 61-year-old voter list would be used making it easy for impersonators to cast their votes, he said.

His aim was the creation of a corruption-free society, he said.
