The city police will seek custody of four persons from West Bengal arrested by Kochi police in connection with two thefts reported in the city a few years ago. The Kochi police on July 11 arrested Mumtaz Begum (50), Yaseen Sheikh (54), Nobia Beevi (45), and Amina Sheikh (55) from Shang Shahar, Bhangar South Pargana, West Bengal.

The group was caught while they were attempting to steal some ornaments from Malabar Gold and Diamonds outlet in Kochi. During the questioning, they admitted to being involved in thefts at Gold Palace in K.S. Rao Road and Tanishq in Balmatta.
