: The police and defence personnel dedicate their lives to protect citizens of our nation, so their service should always be remembered and respected, said Additional District and Sessions Judge Hanchate Sanjeev Kumar.
Speaking on Martyrs’ Day organised by the district police department at District Armed Reserve Police parade grounds here on Monday, he said it was known that police personnel face severe pressure while performing their duties, at such times they should judge what is right and take decision in the interests of the people.
He also remembered the sacrifice of DYSP Karan Singh of CRP who was attacked by Chinese troops in 1959.
Those days policemen were armed only with rifles, but their dedication and patriotism is commendable, he added.
