Kadugodi police on Friday arrested five men in connection with last week’s murder of Anil Gowda, president of Jaya Karnataka’s Mahadevpura constituency unit, near the ITPB.

The suspects are Sunil Kumar, David, Muthu, Sunil and Bharat.

Gowda (33), a resident of Hoodi, was riding his motorbike on ITPB Road near G.R. Tech Park when he was followed in a car.

The police said the suspects rear-ended him, sending him flying. He was then hacked to death.

The police attributed the motive to money. Sunil Kumar, Gowda’s distant relative, owed him some commission over a land deal in Hoodi, which led to much bad blood between the two, culminating in the murder.

Four held for murder

Hulimavu police arrested four suspects in the murder of Suresh, a 27-year-old electrician, at Lakshmipura last week.

Suresh, a resident of Konankunte, was on his two-wheeler along with his friend Santosh when a gang followed him in a bus and hacked him to death. The arrested men are Arjun, Suneel, Kumar and Imran. The police said Suresh was extorting money from Arjun, who then plotted the murder along with his associates.
