BANGALORE: Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court Cyriac Joseph on Friday released a pocket edition of the Constitution of India, authored by senior advocate S.P. Shankar.

At a ceremony organised by the Advocates Association, Bangalore, on the High Court premises, Mr. Joseph handed over the first copy of the book to Markandeya Katju, judge, Supreme Court.

The pocket edition features all the amendments to the Constitution, including the latest 93rd amendment in which clause 5 was inserted in Article 15 (reservation). It also features important case laws including the latest Rameshwar Prasad vs. Union of India (Bihar Assembly dissolution). The scope of judicial review in respect of environmental interest under Article 226 (Bombay Dyeing case) discussed by the Supreme Court in March-April 2006 is also covered.

Mr. Katju said the book was highly useful to judges, advocates, students as well as litigant public. AAB president D.L. Jagadish presided.
