Janata Dal (S) MLC and Kannada film producer E. Krishnappa on Tuesday alleged that a plot to eliminate him had been hatched in jail.
Without disclosing details, Mr. Krishnappa told the Legislative Council on Tuesday that he had been getting threatening calls saying that a “supari” of Rs. 25 lakh had been given for his murder. He alleged that instead of taking stringent action against the kingpins behind the plot, the police had only acted against petty criminals in the case.
