Udupi Pioneer Photographers Association (UPPA) will organise a day-long programmes to mark the World Photography Day at the Nutana Ravindra Mantapa on MGM College campus here on Sunday.

Senior photographer Nagaraj Varambally would be honoured with the ‘UPPA Puraskar’ during the programme, said a release issued by the association here on Friday. A photography workshop would be held by photographer Arun Mahendrakar from Bangalore in the afternoon. This will be followed by a workshop on digital photography by photojournalist Astro Mohan. Sivakumar from Salem would conduct a training session on Adobe Photoshop. A programme in memory of writer K.S. Haridasa Bhat will be held. Awards for the winners of the State-level competition titled, ‘Varsha Vaibhava’, conducted by the association earlier this month, will be distributed.

The winners of the competition are Prasanna Perdoor (first place), B. Sudhir from Doddabalapur (second), and Ramesh Chavan from Bijapur (third); and consolation prizes for Ravikumar from Saligrama, Raviraj Rao from Hejmady, and Sudhakar Yermal from Mangalore.

Kota Srinivas Poojary, Minister for Muzrai, Ports and Inland Water Transport, would inaugurate the programme.
