The Udupi district unit of the Popular Front of India (PFI) on Wednesday criticised the reported statement of Home Minister V.S. Acharya that the PFI had links with the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), the intelligence agency of Pakistan.

‘Irresponsible'

In a press release issued here, president of the district unit of the PFI Niyamat Ali said Dr. Acharya had made an “irresponsible” statement.

The PFI had full faith in the Constitution of the country and its secular values. The PFI was opposed to communal and fascist organisations.

Dr. Acharya should desist from making such statements, the press release added.
