Residual pesticides in vegetables and fruits available in Bangalore are a cause of concern. According to H.S. Kantha, Assistant Scientist at Shriram Institute for Industrial Research, pesticide residue is being found more in ladies finger, curry leaves, cucumber, chilli, brinjal, mango and grapes among others.

“Normally we test for the presence of about 120 types of pesticides in the laboratories and we find residues of some pesticides,” he said.
