A Passing-out parade of 80 Permanent Commissioned Officers and 52 Service Commissioned Officers from aeronautical engineering was held at the Air Force Technical College, Jalahalli West, in Bangalore on Friday.

Putting in 74 weeks of training in aeronautical engineering, military leadership and managerial skills, the batch also had 28 women officers, a release issued here said.

Air Marshal Arup Raha, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Air Command of the Indian Air Force, emphasised the role of engineers in the maintenance of aircraft and ground-based equipment.

Air Marshal Arup Raha, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Air Command of the Indian Air Force, presented the ‘President’s Plaque’ to Flying Officer Praveen Kumar adjudged the best all-round officer. The ‘Vice-President’s Sword’ was awarded to Flying Officer Patil Abhijit Suresh.
