MYSORE: The summer camp held at the Mysore zoo concluded here on Saturday.

The camp has been conducted since several years to raise awareness on the environment and zoo activities.

This year, the participants were exposed to adventure activities such as aerial crossing.

The camp was conducted in three batches: the camp for the first batch of 37 higher primary students concluded on April 8, for the second batch of 31 high school students it ended on April 26 and for the third batch of 22 college and high school students it concluded on Saturday.

Zoo resource person Somashekar said that the participants enthusiastically participated in all the activities. The participants were drawn from 51 educational institutions and were given bags, t-shirts, books and other material.

Classes on deer and antelopes; importance of snakes; primates, birds, bears; mask-making etc. were conducted during the seven-day camp.

The participants were taken to Karanji Lake Nature Park and the Regional Museum of Natural History and Zoo Library.
