Bangalore: Minister for Textiles, Youth Services and Sports Gulihatti D. Shekhar on Tuesday said that the Government would sign memoranda of understanding with textile industrialists on June 3 and 4 for generating 50,000 jobs in Shimoga, Maddur and other places.

Speaking to presspersons, he said that while Shahi Exports would start an integrated textile park at Shimoga by investing Rs.750 crore and a factory at Maddur, Bombay Rayon would set up its garment factories at Malavalli, KGF, Hosadurga, Shiggaon, Gudibande, Chamanagar and Honnali.

Hitco Company would set up its factory by investing Rs.560 crore at Nippani for which it had purchased 100 acres of land. Textile companies from Chennai and Tirupur would set up factories at Chamarajanagar and Kollegalwith an investment of Rs. 300 crore. He said that 40,000 people had been trained by the Government in tailoring and each would get a salary of Rs.4,500, a month, when employed by the investors.
