Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah said here on Monday that the team formed by the Congress to review drought relief works would submit a report to the State government by April 22.

Speaking to presspersons here, he said Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda had called an all-party meeting to discuss the issue of taking a delegation to the Centre seeking more funds to tackle drought and Congress MLAs would attend the meet.

Mr. Siddaramaiah said a delegation of party leaders, led by him, recently met Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and United Progressive Alliance chairperson Sonia Gandhi and sought more Central funds to the State.

He alleged that the Chief Minister was unable to concentrate on drought relief works owing to dissident activities in the Bharatiya Janata Party. The former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa should allow the government to complete drought relief works, he added. Mr. Siddaramaiah said the government should distribute fodder for free in drought-hit areas in view of its severe shortage there.
