HASSAN: Minister of State for Railways K.H. Muniyappa has said that a pair of train between Arsikere and Mysore (via Hassan) will be introduced at the earliest and that this will be at the request made by the former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda who represents Hassan in Lok Sabha. The Minister made a brief halt at Arsikere en route to Davanagere on Thursday.

Addressing presspersons, Mr. Muniyappa said the doubling of track between Arsikere and Tumkur was going on in full swing and that before the work could conclude, Arsikere platform that accommodates 18 compartments now would be expanded to accommodate 24 coaches. He said that an underbridge would be constructed at the railway level crossing near Malleswara Nagar in the town. He said that halt for Yeshvanthpur-New Delhi Sampark Kranti Express would be provided at Arsikere.
