It is that time of the year again when students bid goodbye to their school life and prepare to face the future. At several schools part of The Hindu's Newspaper in Education (NIE) programme, functions were held and graduating students spoke about their favourite memories of school and paid rich tributes to their mentors.
The graduation ceremony of Sudarshan Vidya Mandir Institutions, Jayanagar, of ICSE and State syllabus, was held at the NIMHANS auditorium. K. Jairaj, Additional Chief Secretary, delivered the keynote address.
Hemaa Narayan, Director and Principal, Sudarshan Vidya Mandir Institutions, highlighted the need to have conviction and confidence in oneself.
Sankalpa Divas was held for the outgoing students of Class X at Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra, Thanisandra Main Road, recently. Swami Chandreshananda of Ramakrishna Vivekanada Sadana Kendra was the chief guest. Students took a pledge to uphold the values taught at school and serve the country to the best of their abilities. The students also donated Rs. 29,000 to an orphanage. Students of classes VIII and IX presented a dance and a song.
Bangalore Public School, Indiranagar, held a farewell for its outgoing students of Class X. Students of Class IX presented a special programme for their seniors. Vice-principal S.V. Vasumathi told students to achieve success through hard work and sincerity.
Sri Vani Education Centre, Magadi Road, held a special programme, Chinnara Kalasourabha, for the children of the kindergarten section. It was a colourful event presented by the tiny tots. Artiste Mayuri Upadhya, the chief guest, appreciated the performances and spoke about the need to be positive and accept failures.
