ANXIOUS:District Election Officer Amlan Aditya Biswas, along with other officials, checking the luggage at the railway station in Bellary on Thursday night.

The district administration had stepped up its vigil on Thursday night after it was informed that a large quantity of money was bring brought to Bellary by the Bangalore-bound Hubli-Bangalore Hampi Express train.

Based on a credible information that a large quantity of money belonging to the BSR Congress was being brought to Bellary by train, a team of officials, including members of the panel monitoring the model code of conduct, led by District Election Officer Amlan Aditya Biswas, reached the railway station at 10 p.m. and conducted a thorough search. However, the team had to return disappointed as it could not find anything in the train after checking several bags.

As thought it was not enough, the district administration received another call late in the night that a baggage of money belonging to the Congress had been kept in an apartment in Gandhi Nagar. Immediately, Mr. Biswas, along with Superintendent of Police Chandragupta, corporation Commissioner and Returning Officer D.L. Narayan and other officials, rushed to the spot and carried out a detailed search only to return disappointed as nothing was found.
