A case of alleged illegal construction of a choultry on land belonging to a temple in Kolar town causing loss to the Government has come to light. The authorities concerned are thinking of taking steps against the errant temple management. Balaji Prarthana Mandira, the choultry on land belonging to the Pete Sri Venkataramanaswamy temple in Dodpet, has been constructed, according to sources, without the permission of the Muzrai Department.

The Deputy Commissioner has now written to the Assistant Commissioner directing him to take control of the choultry and deposit rent collections to the temple account.
