Nurses, led by the district unit of the Karnataka Government Nurses Association, met Deputy Commissioner D.S. Vishwanath and urged him to provide protection to nurses willing to work in the wake of a call to strike work. While nurses continue to work at Sri Narasimha Raja District Hospital here and Government Hospital at Kolar Gold Fields, those who are ready to work were being prevented by the supporters of the strike, the association said. It sought police protection for nurses to work at hospi tals in Srinivaspur, Banga rpet and Mulbagal. District secretary of the association S. Vijayamma was present. — Staff Correspondent
