Goa State Information Commission on Thursday issued notice to Goa Advocate-General Subodh Kantak directing him to personally appear before the commission on January 21 in connection with a complaint filed against him by activist Aires Rodrigues for non-complying with the Right to Information Act. In his petition, Mr. Rodrigues stated that though the RTI Act was enacted to promote transparency and accountability, the Advocate-General did not comply with the provisions of the Act for five years.

Mr. Rodrigues stated that the Advocate-General was a “public authority” as defined under Section 2 (h) of the RTI Act, 2005.
